Days after a top TSA official conceded that the agency would be forced to reconsider its policies in the aftermath of a nationwide backlash against invasive screening procedures, the agency was dealt another two huge blows yesterday with the news that the TSA budget would be slashed by $270 million, in addition to the return of a bill in Texas that would make grope-downs a felony.
The Texas bill that would have made invasive TSA pat-downs in the state a felony, legislation that was nixed after the Justice Department issued a threat to shut down Texas airports and impose a federal blockade, has risen again like a phoenix from the flames.
Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the man responsible for turning Senators away from the bill which had looked set to pass having sailed through the House unanimously, has reversed his position and “asked Gov. Rick Perry to include the measure in a special session of the Texas legislature,” reports The Hill.
Texas state Rep. David Simpson (R), one of the main backers of the bill, told visitors to his Facebook page that Dewhurst has had a “change of heart,” which may have something to do with the firestorm of criticism the Lt. Governor received after his actions, in addition to promises by Simpson and others to oppose Dewhurst’s future political aspirations in the state.
“The Lt. Gov. sent a letter to Gov. Perry asking him to include the TSA bill HB 1937 in the special session!,” Simpson wrote on the website. “Please call the Governor and tell him you agree with Lt. Gov. Dewhurst!”
There shouldn’t even be a debate as to whether or not TSA workers can stick their hands down your pants or fondle a woman’s breasts. Not even a police officer or an FBI agent can legally lay a hand on you unless it’s in the course of an arrest. Though welcomed, there isn’t even any need for a law to be passed in Texas, all state police have to do is enforce existing laws.
As Steve Wagstaffe, the District Attorney in San Mateo County, told Alex Jones last year, merely touching someone against their will is a felony in California, just as it is in Texas and across the country.
“If it is skin to skin, if someone were to take their hand and put it underneath somebody’s blouse and touch someone inappropriately and go skin to skin, that’s a felony, and if it’s done simply over the clothing, according to California law, that’s a misdemeanor,” said Wagstaffe.
If police merely did their job and enforced existing laws by arresting TSA agents who molest Americans, whether that be in airports, at train stations, highways, bus terminals, prom nights or wherever else TSA workers are used, then there would be no need for new legislation.

In a related story, the number of TSA screeners groping children and searching babies’ diapers at security checkpoints not just at airports, but also proms, highways, train stations and bus depots, is set to be cut by 10 per cent after the Republican-controlled House voted 219 to 204 to cut the Transportation Security Administration’s budget by $270 million, a move opposed by Democrats and union leaders.
The cut was part of a homeland security budget bill for fiscal year 2012. The House also voted 218 to 205 to prevent the TSA from collective bargaining with its workers. Both amendments now move to the Senate.
The deluge of negative press that the TSA has been forced to endure over the course of the last year is finally starting to cause cracks in the facade of the federal agency.
As we reported yesterday, TSA Field Operations Manager Scott Johnson said that the agency was considering changing its screening techniques during a meeting with lawmakers in Alaska.

Interesting that the Department of Justice would intervene on behalf of the DHS. Was the decision of the TX legislature a violation of the “rights” of the TSA? Does the TSA have legal “rights” to American justice? The obvious injustices are being carried out by the TSA against the public’s Constituional rights.

And a $270 million slash is a start anyway in reducing the perverts from molesting the people. Their budget should be cut to ZERO dollars. When Obama signs the bill that Congress has produced which include those cuts…THEN I will feel like we have a victory. Until then..it’s politics as usual and nothing has changed in the real world.
It does sound like the Texas Lt. Gov realized his political career was over, forever, if he didn’t go borrow some brains from someone and act in the interests of the Texas public he is supposed to be serving. I still don’t buy the idea he’s a bit different today than he was a few days ago, but if we get the needed results, it doesn’t matter right this second how or why. That can be dealt with at election time.

All TSA patdowns that touch sexual organs are in violation of the state law in which the assault occured. Why is it that American citizens have not risen up in mass anger at the federal government and its contractors over this issue?

As far as calling for a police officer and expecting them respond or protect you from the assult, it is the amazing to me that Americans don’t yet know they have to Constitutional right to police protection. This issue has been decided in the following Federal District and U.S. Supreme Court cases.

•Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. Ct. of Ap., 1981).
•DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services (109 S.Ct. 998, 1989).
•Castle Rock v. Gonzales, 545 US 748 – 2005
Self protection against assault, attack, robbery, or any other cirme againt you or your property is provided in the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution adopted on December 15, 1791. It states,
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Who are the militia? That group of citizens referred to in Article 1: Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution is defined defined in US Code: Title 10: Subtitle A: Part I: Chapter 13 : Section 311. Militia: composition and classes.
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are:
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia
Clearly then, it is the “people’s” right to protect and defend themselves from attack from any source, not just the government. This women and her son have a legal right under the Constitution of the United States to carry a weapon conceled or not and to use it in order to defend themselves against this assult by the Lumpen Proletariat TSA agents.

I cannot understand for the life of me why there has not been such an all out revolt of massive proportions that the TSA agents dare not lay a finger on anyone. I find it unbelievable that grown men, and the airport police for that matter, just stand by while their wives and children are sexually molested by these disgusting perverts. The militia of each state should march on the airports and manhandle each and everyone one of these TSA thugs out of the airport and tell them they are out of a job and no longer required. They should then smash up the scanning machines. In fact the militia would be the ideal people to conduct airport security. They are all patriots and probably know a damn site more about people and how to read them than any lowlife TSA agent.
All of us know that this is not about security, it is about control. The first thing that needs to be done is secure the airport and the baggage areas and all the outbuildings etc. You know they don’t do that properly – shine a light! And that freaks me out and makes me feel very unsafe. Then we know that TSA agents are all perverts, no-one in their right mind would do such a job unless there was something seriously wrong with them and that creeps me out to think that some homo/lesbo will be all over me like a cheap suit or that some pervert is going to look at some porno scan of me in such detail that he and I ought to be making out together, therefore I don’t fly. Just the thought of this stuff makes my stomach churn and I can’t look at an airport now without feeling sick. Every time I see a plane in the sky it makes me feel sick because I think of all those people in it who have been scanned and groped and I wonder how many of them are feeling sick or upset and how many new cancers that has made. All of this is so sick and disgusting only a sadistic pervert could have thought it up.
Your chance of dying in a terrorist attack is something like 1 in 20 or 30 million, the saem as being struck by lighning or dying in your bath. These measures are most unlikely to achieve anything. Frankly I would rather face the terrorists on a daily basis than have this load of crap shoved down my throat. As some eminent person said ‘Give me liberty or give me death’ and as George Carlin said ‘enjoy it, make life more interesting’. I agree. I would happily risk being blown up to get those 65,000 perverts out of a job and Napolitano and Pistole put in a backroom somewhere or even in jail.
I also advocate a campaign of getting to know your local TSA agents as in photographing them (and scanning, fingerprinting them and iris scanning them if you possibly can) and getting their names and addresses. Then I suggest that they are totally ostracized from the community so that no shop will serve them and no-one will talk to them. Just like some communities have a paedophile watch so every community should have a TSA pervert watch. I doubt that many of them could stand that kind of pressure for long. Personally I would like to see them all charged with sexual molestation of some kind and given prison sentences. It is about time that all of us got in touch with our basic values again and reclaimed our moral solidarity.

Yet little girls and babies are assaulted and parents are forced to watch. Some people don’t have the guts to stand up as this son did.
The report said TSA called THEM troublemakers! Is anyone surprised that this family went through the same assault at another airport?
Keep in mind that within a week after Janet assured everyone in a public speech that TSA agents are screened very well, in a very tight screening process, a CONVICTED pedophile was arrested, off the job. Part of his TSA job was to screen children!
We don’t have to take THIS! Together we are heard! But don’t just vent on the Internet. That can diffuse our anger. Take time to call and email your representatives. To remain We the People, we have to BE together, loud and clear! We need to support the brave and strong who stand up the TSA at the airport! My prayers are with this family as they face the fallout from this!
