Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times. Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century. Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century

Once upon a time - a long, long time ago - a nation of people were so out-of-touch with their own well being that they collectively decided that sending a feeble-minded, racist reactionary, and failed "B" movie actor to the White House would be a really neat idea.

The first step to recovery is admitting the problem. America will never heal itself until it comes to terms with its sick, dysfunctional love affair with der Gipper. The damage that that dirty old dingbat did to this country is so immense, it will never never be accurately accessed - it is incalculable.

About two months ago on MSNBC's Morning Joe program, my jaw dropped when I heard the distinguished historian Douglas Brinkley refer to Reagan as one of America's "great" presidents - right up there with Lincoln and the two Roosevelts. If someone as undeniably smart as Brinkley still doesn't get it, it is unlikely that most of the rest of us are going to be "getting it" anytime soon.

What must be remembered is that Ronald Reagan was essentially a mask - with a twinkle in its eye, and a fine, Irish smile. Remove that mask and what is revealed is the twisted, hideous smirk of George W. Bush.

That's the REAL face of the Reagan Revolution.
