DEATH BY GOVERNMENT: GENOCIDE AND MASS MURDER

DEATH BY GOVERNMENT: GENOCIDE AND MASS MURDER
All told, governments killed more than 262 million people in the 20th century outside of wars, according to University of Hawaii political science professor R.J. Rummel. Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times. Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century. Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century

A gunman shooting at cars near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street was killed Friday morning after a shootout with police, and much of the incident was caught on video.
In one clip obtained by NBC4 (embedded, above) the gunman calmly fires into a passing truck. The gunshot echoes through the neighborhood.
In another video, posted on Twitvid, one car swerves away from gunfire, while another vehicle makes a U-turn and speeds off.

Police responded to the shooting spree about 10:20 a.m. The suspect was shot and killed by police. He died at the scene.
A second person was also shot, possibly by the suspect. A fire official confirmed at least one person was transported by LAFD to a hospital for treatment.
No police officers were injured in the shooting.
"I had some bad feelings. I though maybe we should throw some things at him or call the police. It was a really terrifying moment for me," said witness Nick Weinstein.
"I kind of ducked down behind that water fountain and then, I ran into the bank," said another witness.
Police shut down a portion of the street near ArcLight Cinemas. The intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street remained closed at 4 p.m. Traffic was being diverted around the crime scene.
