Our two political parties have a policy of concentration of wealth. They take from the middle class and give to the rich, and to corporations. And they demonize the poor as lazy cheating loafers to distract your attention from the REAL crooks, the rich.
The problem is that we have allowed money to become too important in our electoral politics. Both parties desperately need money to run candidates. And they both get the money from the same sources. From the rich who want to be richer. So the top 1% have doubled their wealth and their share of ownership two or three times in the last 30 years while the 95% of us who work have worked harder to stay in the same place.
85% of our welfare is CORPORATE welfare. And 80% of the poor in America are WORKING poor, people who 'play by the rules' and work at full time jobs and are still beneath the poverty line.
