DEATH BY GOVERNMENT: GENOCIDE AND MASS MURDER

DEATH BY GOVERNMENT: GENOCIDE AND MASS MURDER
All told, governments killed more than 262 million people in the 20th century outside of wars, according to University of Hawaii political science professor R.J. Rummel. Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times. Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century. Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century

ROYAL PRAETORIAN GUARD! Snipers, undercover officers and sniffer dogs: 5,000 police throw ring of steel around capital

Police have hailed the British public for helping to make the Royal Wedding security operation "an amazing success", after 55 people were charged.

Suspected anarchists were apparently seen putting masks on in central London's Soho Square before the Royal Wedding got under way nearby.
Many arrests were made along the route where the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge later passed after their marriage ceremony.
The alleged offences included breach of the peace, drunk and disorderly, handling stolen goods and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 38-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on The Mall was among those detained.

The £20m security operation got under way as police and the military faced the threat of terrorists, anarchists and stalkers.
Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner Lynne Owens said her 5,000 officers should be "immensely proud" of their role in the "happy and safe" event.
Scotland Yard had reported the number of arrests as 57, but this was later corrected to 55.
Sky sources earlier revealed 21 suspected anarchists had been banned from Westminster for the day's events.

Each of the 21 have been bailed by police, while three others arrested in raids on premises - mostly squats - in London, Sussex and Cambridgeshire, are still in custody.
A ring of steel was thrown around Westminster Abbey where thousands of well-wishers gathered to catch a glimpse of the happy couple.
Armed police and undercover squads of special forces mingled with the crowds to combat any attempt to disrupt the event.
Marksmen took up position on roofs along the ceremonial route as search teams and sniffer dogs carried out a final check of vulnerable locations.
More than 80 VIPs were given close-protection bodyguards.

Royal Wedding: Big Screen Moments

Police insisted they had no intelligence of a specific terrorism threat, although the UK remains on the second-highest alert to an attack from al Qaeda and a substantial risk of a strike from dissident Irish republicans.
Scotland Yard had warned it would launch a pre-emptive strike against any suspected troublemakers and Ms Owens defended pre-event raids on suspected troublemakers as "entirely justified".
A squatter caught up in one raid in South London said: "The idea that the anarchist community or squatting community is mobilising for the Royal Wedding is insane.
"I think the real motive for this is to lead an assault on the squatting community.
"It is political policing which is designed to be theatrical and which damages people's lives in the process."

This is a day of celebration and there should be no place for disruption. But we are ready to deal quickly, robustly and decisively with any trouble.
Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner Lynne Owens

MP John McDonnell urged the Home Office to explain the raids, branding them "a disproportionate use of force."
A secretive unit of police and psychiatrists, the Fixated Threat Assessment Centre, had identified and warned off several people with obsessions about members of the Royal Family.
Of the 5,000 officers on duty for the wedding, most of them stationed along the route with others on standby to deal with any trouble on the fringes. They were joined by Army, Navy and Air Force personnel.

Paul Knowles:
...just because some of us rational citizens do not wish to have a monarch or indeed pay for it

Problem with that, is that we don't really pay it do we? If you look at "money out v money in" they more than pay their way.

2009 figures (I have no access to later ones), ALL costs including civil list / security / policing etc = £89,000,000 it costs us. HOWEVER, the treasury received £211,000,000 from the royal household.

If the Royal fmaily "paid their own way" - and in return other than paying tax, kept ALL their revenues from the vast amounts of prime real estate, you and I would be FAR worse off (or at least the country would be much poorer) and the royal family would be a tenth of a billion better off EACH year.

We actually have a pretty good deal on this - even before more esoteric arguments about tourism etc.

I am certainly no royalist - but they more than pay their way.

@Gobstopper. What an apt name. Just because some of us rational citizens do not wish to have a monarch or indeed pay for it does not mean that we do not like "England" (not Britain). How dare you demand our ejection from a country that I was born in, that My Grandfather died for and that I served as a law enforcer for 30 years. Your blinkered view is typical.

It makes me sad to see all of you compalining about 20m being spent on a great day for the country.
Maybe you should all be putting your efforts into complaning and demonstrating the fact that we pay 9.2billion to the EU which does nothing for this country except put our costs up daily

Only the miserableness of their own sad existance makes these sorry individuals want to cause disruption in a country that gives them the best they'll find in this world. These people care for nothing and only scrape along the bottom of life's vast opportunities. They are no good for themselves and offer nothing to the rest of us.If these sad creatures believe we owe them something thay are badly mistaken. The country enjoyed a wonderful day yesterday and had a well deserved boost,as to what be comes of these trouble makers, who cares.
